(L.A.) Christian Lira, 33, Died on a Street

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 33-year-old Latino male that occurred on a street in South L.A.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Christian Lira.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Traumatic Injuries

RIP CHRISTIAN LIRA (January 13, 1993 – March 25, 2026)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday evening.

The decedent was riding an electric scooter near the intersection of Hoover and 75th streets when he was hit by a vehicle at around 5:30 p.m. In violation of the law, the driver did not stop to remain on scene.

As of August 2026, no arrests have been made. The government has put up a reward of $50,000 for information that leads to the prosecution and conviction of the hit-and-run driver.
