(L.A.) Chauncy Glover, 39, Died From Illicit Substances
Case Number: 2024-17300
Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Chauncy Glover.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Acute Intoxication by the Combined Effects of Chloroethane and Methamphetamine
RIP CHAUNCY CORTEZ GLOVER (July 10, 1985 – November 5, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:40 a.m.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on February 19, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.
This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
When chloroethane and methamphetamine are present together, their combined effects can be more severe than the effects of either substance alone. Chloroethane’s depressant effects on the central nervous system and respiratory function can be exacerbated by methamphetamine’s stimulant effects, leading to a complex and potentially fatal interaction.
The decedent worked as an evening news anchor for KCAL-TV.
