(L.A.) Cesar Martinez, 53, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 53-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Cesar Martinez.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death A: Ischemic Heart Disease
Cause of Death B: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease
Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Methamphetamine; Medical History of Morbid Obesity, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Alcoholic Cirrhosis, Heart Failure, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Hypothyroidism, Osteoarthritis, Lumbar Laminectomy, and Osteomyelitis

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday at 5:33 p.m.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 9.
This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
Basically, the meth caused him to suffer either a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or cardiac arrest.
Note that there are multiple decedents named “Cesar Martinez” in public records.
There were two men named “Cesar Martinez” who died in L.A. County in October 2024.
