(L.A.) Cecil Smith, 52, Died in a Tent

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old Black male that occurred in a tent.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Cecil Smith.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Effects

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 28, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
