Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 26-year-old female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Briana Roldan.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Doxylamine and Diphenhydramine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 10:59 p.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling in September.

Doxylamine is an antihistamine primarily used to treat insomnia and alleviate allergy symptoms. It is available over-the-counter under various brand names, including Unisom, Nytol, and ZzzQuil, and is often found in nighttime cold medications like NyQuil.

Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine commonly used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever, and the common cold, such as itching, runny nose, sneezing, and hives. It’s also used to prevent and treat nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. Additionally, it’s often used as a short-term sleep aid due to its sedative properties. It’s sold under various brand names, including Benadryl, and is available in different forms, including tablets, capsules, liquid, and topical preparations.
