(L.A.) Benjamin Lewis, 70, Died in an Apartment

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 70-year-old Black male that occurred at an apartment.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Benjamin Lewis.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Cocaine Use

RIP BENJAMIN LEWIS (May 21, 1954 – December 31, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:19 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in late February, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
