(L.A.) Asia Shoats, 23, Died on a Highway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 23-year-old Black female that occurred on a highway.
The coroner’s office identified the young woman as Asia Shoats.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
* Note that the government investigator had initially spelled the decedent’s forename as Aisha.
The decedent was one of five people killed in a two-vehicle crash on Pearblossom (SR138) Highway in the Littlerock area.
California Highway Patrol heard about the collision at 8:12 p.m. It was on eastbound Pearblossom Highway at 106th Street East.
People were trapped in both cars, described by witnesses as a blue/gray Mitsubishi sedan and a blue Toyota Yaris.
The drivers of both cars were killed and three other people were also killed in one of the vehicles. All were pronounced dead at the scene.
