(L.A.) Armando Islas Jr., 28, Died at a Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 28-year-old Latino male that occurred at a park.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Armando Islas Jr.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

RIP ARMANDO ISLAS JR. (December 18, 1995 – June 2, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 7:50 p.m.

The decedent was fatally shot in Maywood.

LASD had heard about the shooting at around 7:30 p.m. It happened in the 4800 block of East 58th Street, west of the Los Angeles River.

The Southwest Rio Vista YMCA is located on the corner of 58th Street and Heliotrope Avenue.
