Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine medication primarily used to treat anxiety disorders and alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant primarily used to treat depression.
Promethazine is an antihistamine and antiemetic medication that has gained popularity as a recreational drug due to its sedative and euphoric effects. A popular form of promethazine abuse is the creation of a concoction known as “purple drank” or “sizzurp,” which typically contains promethazine-codeine cough syrup mixed with soda. This combination enhances the opioid high and has become prevalent among injection drug users, chronic pain patients, and at-risk teenagers.
