(L.A.) Alex Rodriguez, 63, Died From Illicit Drug Use

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Alex Rodriguez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Heroin and Methamphetamine

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 4:47 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-March, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
