Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 59-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in Sun Valley.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Alan Hartley.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 9:50 a.m.

The decedent exited the SUV he had been driving and intentionally put himself in the path of a big rig on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Sun Valley.
