Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 46-year-old Japanese female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Akiko Saggio.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Pulmonary Thromboembolus

Cause of Death B: Diabetes Mellitus

RIP AKIKO SAGGIO (March 10, 1970 – August 20, 2016)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 1:20 p.m.

According to family, the decedent passed away unexpectedly due to medication that caused a blood clot in her leg; the blood clot broke free and went to her heart and lungs.

In October 2003, Akiko Lee Saggio filed a ‘Divorce,Separation’ case against Rosario S. Saggio, in the jurisdiction of L.A. County.

She is survived by her partner Steven Hawkins and a daughter, Salen Hawkins.

A ‘wrongful death through medical malpractice’ lawsuit was filed by Steven Hawkins and Salen Hawkins against Phillip Cabasso and Rajesh Chawla, both doctors. BC658421
