Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old female who was in an accident in Hawthorne.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as April Clements.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at hospital.

The decedent and her 17-year-old daughter, Jada, were in a vehicle hit by a speeding driver at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Inglewood Avenue at 11:49 a.m.

Authorities said the driver of a pickup truck ran a red light before slamming into several vehicles, one of which was carrying the mother and daughter.
