(L.A.) James Griffin, 20, Died at an Intersection

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 20-year-old Black male that occurred at an intersection.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as James Griffin.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt Force Trauma

RIP JAMES GRIFFIN (December 18, 2002 – February 5, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 2:20 a.m.

The decedent was one of three fatalities in an early Sunday morning crash involving a driver who was fleeing from police after a possible catalytic converter theft.

The incident started in South Gate and ended in a two-vehicle crash around 2 a.m. at State Street and Tweedy Boulevard in Lynwood.

Micaela and Flavio Balderas were two innocent victims whose car was crashed into by the speeding vehicle that Griffin was a passenger in.
