The coroner’s office identified the man as Keith Porter. Born in L.A. County.
Manner of Death: Homicide
Cause of Death: Multiple Gunshot Wounds

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday night.
The decedent was killed by an off-duty ICE agent on New Year’s Eve. The murderer has been named. He is Brian Palacios.

Video: Crowds gathered to grill the Los Angeles Police Commission over the fatal shooting of a man by an off-duty agent. The incident happened in the San Fernando Valley on New Year’s Eve. Federal officials claim it was an active-shooter incident, but family members and activists denounce that characterization since the man had simply fired one shot in celebration of the holiday.
As of January 13, the name of the ICE agent has still not been released.
