Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.
Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was publicly disclosed on July 23, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
DME finalized the determination and closed this case on July 24.
The decedent had a minor criminal history going back at least 10 years, with multiple arrests for trespassing on public lands and drug offenses.
Samantha and “Mundo” were two of the deaths near MacArthur Park and the Westlake Post Office yesterday. Keeping eyes open for the third death. And definitely one on the 2nd where LaFD wailed to resuscitate. pic.twitter.com/ElCD4rvMFV
