(L.A.) John Indrawis, 66, Died at a Bus Stop

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 66-year-old male that occurred a bus stop.

The coroner’s office identified the man as John Indrawis and listed his race/ethnicity as Latino [sic].

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Condition: Soft-Tissue Neoplasm of Chest

RIP JOHN ABDALLA INDRAWIS (July 23, 1959 – November 27, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday.

Note that the government investigator had initially stated that the decedent had died on a public sidewalk.

The decedent may actually have been of Middle Eastern origin. “Indrawis” sounds like a variation of the surname Andrawis, which is common among Coptic Christians in Egypt.

New Jersey and California have large populations of Egyptians with each having between 46,000 and 55,000 individuals identifying as Egyptian.

Egyptians make up about 0.5% of NJ’s total population.
