(L.A.) Leah Ruvel, 18, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 18-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office identified the young woman as Leah Ruvel.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Acute Sertraline and Quetiapine Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in early December, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

Both sertraline and quetiapine carry FDA black box warnings, the strongest type of safety alert, due to an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in children, adolescents, and young adults.
