(L.A.) Kumiko Shinomiya, 80, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an 80-year-old female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Kumiko Weston.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Complications of Multiple Blunt-Force Injuries

Cause of Death B: Vehicular Collision (Driver)

RIP KUMIKO SHINOMIYA (January 25, 1945 – August 25, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday.

The government investigator had initially given the decedent’s name as Kumiko Weston and listed her race/ethnicity as Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander [sic].

She was taken to the hospital and stayed intubated until she passed, without surgeries or procedures performed.
