(L.A.) Israel Mendoza, 9, Died in Lancaster

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a nine-year-old Latino male that occurred on a road.
The coroner’s office has identified the child as Israel Mendoza.

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.
The decedent was a passenger in a Honda that was hit by a Dodge Challenger on 200th Street East, just south of Avenue G, in Lancaster.
California Highway Patrol said the incident happened at around 5:45 p.m.
The driver of the muscle car, a 23-year-old man named Christian Powell, is accused of driving while intoxicated and failing to stop to render aid.
