(L.A.) Mertha Davis, 45, Died in an Abandoned Lot

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 45-year-old Black male that occurred in an abandoned lot.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Mertha Davis.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Recent Cocaine Use

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-September, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
