Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a male that occurred at his residence.
The coroner’s office identified the man as Justin Mitchell.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death: Inhalation of Products of Combustion and Thermal Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 2:40 p.m. He perished in the Eaton fire, as did his 68-year-old father.
Media outlets have stated that the decedent was a 35-year-old black male. The birth date (November 10, 1984) provided by the government investigator would, however, make the person 40 years old.
There is a Justin Ashton Mitchell who was born on November 10, 1989, in Los Angeles County. This individual would have been 35 years old at the time of the fire. His mother’s maiden name is Williams.
