Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 61-year-old Black male.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Allen Deed.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

Other Significant Conditions: Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome; Chronic Alcohol Use

RIP ALLEN DEED (November 10, 1962 – June 27, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Thursday at 5:38 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on July 16.

Wernicke’s disease and Korsakoff’s psychosis result from brain damage associated with alcohol use disorder, combined with vitamin B1 (thiamine) deficiency.
