(L.A.) Luis Reyes Perez, 44, Died in a Walkway

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 44-year-old Latino male that occurred in a walkway.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Luis Reyes Perez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Septic Endocarditis

Other Significant Conditions: Pneumonia, Dilated Cardiomyopathy, and Methamphetamine Use

RIP LUIS REYES (August 5, 1979 – March 30, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 13, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drug.

This is considered an accidental overdose.

Note that he government investigator had initially given the decedent’s forename+surname as simply Luis Reyes, before later adding Perez to the surname.
