(L.A.) Latoya Byrd, 37, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 37-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Latoya Byrd.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Hypertensve Heart Disease

Other Significant Condition: Effects of Methamphetamine

RIP LATOYA BYRD (March 12, 1986 – May 29, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 1:32 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 20, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive for meth.

This was an accidental drug overdose.
