(L.A.) Zhi Dao Died at 99 Ranch Market

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of an Asian male that occurred at the 99 Ranch Market in Westwood.

Per its usual incompetence, the coroner’s office gave the man’s name as Zih Dao, his age as 28, and his year of death as 2025 [sic].

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Wednesday.

The decedent was 29 years old (Western age calculation; 30 by Chinese) and was in the country on a business trip from Taiwan. He was at the bakery section of the supermarket when a vehicle being driven by an elderly woman slammed into it at around noon. He is unmarried and his next of kin is his mother who has flown in to arrange for the repatriation of his body.
