RIP ZACHARY PAUL GOLDSBOROUGH (August 21, 1996 – February 17, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:55 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on August 4, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back positive for the drugs.

All of the drugs mentioned in the COD are prescription medications. Essentially, the deceased had nine different prescription drugs in his system at the time of his death.

Bupropion is an antidepressant used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder. It’s also used as an aid for smoking cessation.

Citalopram is an antidepressant, specifically a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), used to treat depression.

Propranolol is a beta-blocker primarily used to treat high blood pressure, irregular heart rhythms, and certain types of anxiety.

Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine used to treat anxiety, tension, nausea, vomiting, and allergies.

Chlorcyclizine is an antihistamine used to treat allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.

Methocarbamol is a muscle relaxant used to treat muscle spasms and pain. Its primary function is to slow activity in the nervous system to help the body relax.

* The FDA has required black-box warnings for anti-depressants because of the apparently increased risk of suicidal ideation, particularly in younger people.

* Antihistamines have been prescribed off-label to treat anxiety disorders.

Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine medication used to treat anxiety disorders.

Chlordiazepoxide is also a benzodiazepine medication. It is used to treat anxiety disorders and alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
