(L.A.) Yvonne Parks, 40, Died at an Intersection

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old White/Caucasian female that occurred at an intersection in Baldwin Hills.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Yvonne Parks.

Height: 5 feet 6 inches / Weight: 140 pounds

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Traumatic Injuries

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 2:15 a.m.

The decedent had been walking in a crosswalk with a green light, apparently with her boyfriend, when she was fatally injured by a vehicle whose driver then fled the scene.

LAPD said they were called at 1:55 a.m. for an accident at 5798 West Obama Boulevard near La Cienega Boulevard.

Preliminary investigation suggests a a dark-colored vehicle was being driven north on La Cienega when it struck the pedestrian. She lost her life almost instantly. Her boyfriend suffered no injuries. They were both walking to a 7-Eleven from a homeless encampment nearby.

The hit-and-run vehicle was possibly a dark-colored Toyota Camry.
