Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the infant girl as Y’Unity Pearson.

Manner of Death: Undetermined

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

Other Significant Condition: Unsafe Sleep Environment and Co-Sleeping

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

The child was almost nine months old.

Note that the government investigator had initially written the decedent’s name as Y-Unity, with a hyphen.
