(L.A.) Yesenia Mendez Hernandez, 30, Died at a Residence

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 30-year-old Hispanic female that occurred at her residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Yesenia Mendez Hernandez.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Fentanyl, Fluorofentanyl, and Xylazine Toxicity

RIP YESENIA MENDEZ HERNANDEZ (November 6, 1994 – February 21, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 9:32 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 19, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
