RIP YAYRA ESTELLE RUTHERFORD (August 31, 2022 – December 22, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 10:06 a.m.

LAPD had been sent to Sepulveda and West Century Boulevard near LAX at around 10:00 AM on reports of a medical emergency. They found a homeless woman with two young children. One infant, the decedent, was found lifeless on a bus bench. The brother has been taken by the county’s Department of Children & Family Services, and the mother was interviewed by detectives. The mother had given her child Benadryl and a few hours later saw her daughter foaming at the mouth. The three have been homeless since June.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on April 30 the following year, presumably after the results of tox panel came back from the lab.
