(L.A.) Wilbert Monroe, 67, Died From a Polydrug OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 67-year-old Black male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Wilbert Monroe.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Toxicity by the Combined Effects of Cocaine, Phencyclidine, Opiates, and Fentanyl

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 9:04 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on May 1, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
