(L.A.) Walter Donley, 63, Died in Long Beach

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 63-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a hospital.
The coroner’s office has identified the man as Walter Donley.
Manner of Death: Accident
Cause of Death A: Blunt-Force Head Truama
Cause of Death B: History of Fall
Other Significant Condition: History of Methamphetamine Use (Clinical)
RIP WALTER JOHN DONLEY (December 22, 1959 – November 26, 2023)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 4:08 p.m.
This was a workplace fatality investigated by OSHA.
The decedent was a non-union employee working at an industrial office building identified as Steven Amato, at 2125 W. 15th Street, Long Beach, CA 90813. The NAICS code of teh business was 321920, referring to Wood Container and Pallet Manufacturing.
At 11:00 p.m. on October 27, 2023, Mr. Donley was with another individual inside the building. He was on a ladder approximately 3-4 feet above ground level. While the other individual went to use the restroom, Mr. Donley supposedly fell off the ladder. It is unknown why he was on the ladder and how he fell off the ladder. He hit the floor, injuring his head.
A call was made to 911. Mr. Donley was transported by the Long Beach Fire Department to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Long Beach. He remained in the hospital for several weeks until the other individual decided to remove Mr. Donley from life support. Mr. Donley died from his injuries on November 26, 2023.
After investigation by OSHA, the employer was ordered to pay a fine of 5,125 dollars.
