(L.A.) Vincent Martinez, 66, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 66-year-old Latino male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Vincent Martinez.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death A: Septic Shock

Cause of Death B: Perforated Small Bowel, Favor Ischemic

Other Significant Conditions: Congestive Heart Failure, Hypertension, Laennec’s Cirrhosis, Chronic Venous Stasis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Chronic Methamphetamine Use, Atrial Fibrillation, Probable Community-Acquired Bacterial Pneumonia

A hole ruptured through the small intestine’s wall—most likely due to ischemia (reduced blood flow causing tissue death)—leading to peritonitis, sepsis, and fatal complications, as per the pathologist’s best judgment favoring ischemia over other causes like trauma or tumor.

Laënnec cirrhosis is primarily caused by excessive and chronic alcohol consumption.
