(L.A.) Valla Fahimian, 42, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 42-year-old male that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Valla Fahimian.

RIP VALLA FAHIMIAN (March 20, 1981 – May 21, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday at 10:50 p.m.

The body has been released.

UPDATE: On May 24, the coroner investigator / medical examiner’s office withdrew their initial conclusion that the decedent died from an accident due to blunt force injuries. They now say the case status is deferred pending additional investigation.

Though the decedent’s name appears to be Iranian/Persian, the government recorder did not specify his race or ethnicity, which they are required to do under the law for data disaggregation purposes.

The government workers in charge of this case are Lydia Granado-Mata and Lawrence Nguyen.

If the medical examiner has ordered toxicological screening, the next public update may take five to ten months. Manner and cause of death will be added to this page when it becomes available.
