RIP TOURMARIA FOREMAN (October 9, 1991 – October 8, 2024)
Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 9:18 a.m.
MDMB-4en-PINACA is a highly potent synthetic cannabinoid receptor agonist. Its effects are much more pronounced and unpredictable than those of natural cannabis.
The decedent was one of eight inmates who exhibited drug overdose symptoms while in a holding cell at the Inmate Reception Center waiting to be taken to court. The other seven recovered.
This is LASD’s 24th in-custody death this year.
MDMB-4en-PINACA and similar synthetic cannabinoids are not commonly found in pill form. They are most often sold as powders or oils that are sprayed onto plant material and then smoked or vaped. Sometimes, these substances are dissolved in liquid for use in e-cigarettes or vape pens. Less commonly, they may be ingested orally (as tea, in capsules, or on blotter paper), but the primary and most popular route of administration is smoking or vaping.
