(L.A.) Torrey Payne Jr., 60, Died From a Coke OD

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 60-year-old Black male that occurred at his residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Torrey Payne Jr.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Acute Cocaine Intoxication

RIP TORREY PAYNE JR. (March 7, 1964 – November 4, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Monday at 11:25 a.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on February 17, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
