Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 40-year-old Black male who passed away at a halfway house.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Timothy Simmons.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Morbid Obesity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published in mid-January, presumably after the results of tox screening came back negative for substances.
