(L.A.) Tamala Smith, 55, Died in Glendale

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Black female that occurred at an extended-stay hotel in Glendale.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Tamala Smith of Toledo, Ohio.

Manner of Death : Undetermined

Cause of Death : Undetermined After Autopsy and Toxicology Studies

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Renal Failure of Unknown Cause

RIP TAMALA SMITH (May 13, 1967 – February 18, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 8:50 p.m.

The decedent had just had a three-hour operation done at Pacific Liposculpture’s Newport Beach office on February 8. She had traveled to California specifically for the procedure of having fat removed from her abdomen and flanks and having it redistributed to her buttocks.

Initially, the medical examiner stated that they could not make a conclusion as to whether this was a suicide, accident, homicide or a natural death. But for some reason, on February 5 the following year, the Department published their determination that this was a natural death.

The case has been closed, and the pathologist on record is Dr. Jack Guccione.
