GHB

GHB or Gamma Hydroxybutyrate is a central nervous system (CNS) depressant that is commonly referred to as a “club drug” or “date rape” drug. GHB is abused by teens and young adults at bars, parties, clubs and “raves” (all-night dance parties), and is often placed in alcoholic beverages.

Of the over 160,000 death records that L.A. County’s medical examiner has made public since the 1990s, “Gamma-Hydroxybutyric Acid” is mentioned in at least 35 cases and “Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate” about 25 times.
