Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks are a Western Conference NBA franchise founded in 1980. They won their lone championship in 2011 behind Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, who remains the face of the franchise after two decades in Dallas.

The team plays at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. After years as a perennial playoff contender led by Luka Dončić, the Mavericks sent him to the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster 2025 trade that brought Anthony Davis to Texas. As of July 2026, Dallas is in a transitional phase—rebuilding around a new young core including recent lottery picks while navigating the post-Luka era under a new ownership group led by Miriam Adelson and Patrick Dumont.
