Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 16-year-old Hispanic female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the teenager as Sylvia Macias.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Metformin Toxicity

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 4:35 a.m.

The Department of Medical Examiner publicly disclosed the CoD ruling on November 11, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.
