Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 72-year-old White/Caucasian male who passed away at his residence.

The man’s name is Steven Stingley, resident of 4715 East Greenmeadow Road in the 90808.

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot Wound to the Head

RIP STEVEN GARY STINGLEY (January 10, 1952 – 2024)

The decedent was a retired aersopace engineer who was found lifeless by his girlfried at his home the evening of November 1. He may have actually died on October 30.

Police had initially considered this might have been suicide. The suspect eventually charged for the crime of murder was William Walter Altpeter, whose mother’s maiden name is Stingley. He was apparently the nephew of the victim.
