(L.A.) Stacy Umberger, 52, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 52-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred at LAGMC.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Stacy Umberger.

Manner of Death: Natural

Cause of Death: Atherosclerotic and Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease

RIP STACY C. UMBERGER (July 4, 1973 – December 5, 2025)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday.

The decedent’s birth certificate spells his middle name as Clair, while LASD spelled it as Clare.

He expired in the emergency department of Los Angeles General Medical Center. He had just been arrested by Monterey Park PD the evening of December 4 based on an allegation of burglary.

Notably, the district attorney rejected filing charges in the wake of his arrest.

This was LASD’s 42nd in-custody death for the year.
