(L.A.) Sherri Froelke, 55, Committed Suicide

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 55-year-old Caucasian female that occurred at a private residence.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Sherri Froelke.

Manner of Death: Suicide

Cause of Death: Effect of Multiple Medications (Sertraline, Trazodone, Bupropion, Eszopiclone, and Topiramate)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Saturday at 11:55 a.m.

Sertraline is an antidepressant that belongs to a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Trazodone is an antidepressant that belongs to a group of drugs called serotonin receptor antagonists and reuptake inhibitors (SARIs).

Bupropion is an antidepressant medication that is now also used in smoking cessation. Bupropion has been FDA-approved since 1985. The drug is FDA-approved for adult depression, seasonal affective disorder, and smoking cessation.

Eszopiclone is a sedative that is used to treat insomnia.

Topiramate is a medication used to manage and treat epilepsy and migraine, and it is in the second-generation anti-epileptic drugs class of drugs. In addition, Topiramate has approval for chronic weight management for individuals with a body mass index over 30.
