(L.A.) Shannon Johnson, 58, Died from Drugs

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 58-year-old Black female that occurred in a hotel/motel.

The coroner’s office identified the woman as Shannon Johnson.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Effects of Fentanyl and Cocaine

RIP SHANNON JOHNSON (November 4, 1964 – June 13, 2023)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 12:05 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on July 28, presumably after the results of tox screening came back positive from the lab. This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Note that there are multiple decedents named “Shannon Johnson” in public records.
