(L.A.) Sehat Nauli, 49, Died From an Accident

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 49-year-old male.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Sehat Nauli and listed his race/ethnicity as Middle Eastern or North African [sic].

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Blunt-Force Head Trauma

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 5:42 p.m.

The decedent was actually Asian, specifically of Indonesian descent.

He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from UCLA in 1998 and earned his Ph.D. in Structural Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Washington School of Medicine. In 2007, he joined the full-time faculty at Santa Monica College, where he taught chemistry and served as department chair from 2019 to 2023.
