(L.A.) Savella Grover-Renton, 64, Died in a Hospital

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 64-year-old Black female that occurred in a hospital.

The coroner’s office has identified the woman as Savella Grover-Renton.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Sequelae of Liver Cirrhosis, Etiology Unknown

Other Significant Conditions: Effects of Methamphetamine, History of Upper Gastrointestinal Hemorrhage and Hypertension

RIP SAVELLA GROVER-RENTON (August 2, 1960 – August 13, 2024)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Tuesday at 7:25 p.m.

Ruling by the deputy medical examiner was published on December 18, presumably after the results of tox screening had come back from the lab.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.
