Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 78-year-old Caucasian male that occurred inside a hyperbaric chamber.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Sam Henley.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death: Drowning

RIP SAM GENE HENLEY (March 23, 1930 – June 29, 2008)

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Sunday.

No idea how a person can drown inside a hyperbaric chamber. What probably happened is that the hyperbaric oxygen treatment was to help reverse brain damage caused by a drowning incident.
