(L.A.) Ryan Macinnis, 39, Died in a Park

Los Angeles County is reporting the death of a 39-year-old White/Caucasian male that occurred in a park.

The coroner’s office has identified the man as Ryan Macinnis.

Manner of Death: Accident

Cause of Death A: Sepsis

Cause of Death B: Necrotizing Fasciitis of Left Lower Extremity

Other Significant Condition: Fentanyl and Methamphetamine Abuse

Formal pronouncement of death was made on Friday at 1:58 p.m.

This is considered an accidental, i.e., unintentional, drug overdose.

Necrotizing fasciitis in drug users frequently progresses to sepsis due to bacterial invasion from nonsterile practices and contaminated substances.
